Prevent Cosmetic Acne
Tips to Fight Pimples & Blemish
Cosmetic Acne - Whenever we apply cosmetics we hope that it enhances our natural beauty. Most often it does. Our cheekbones are more pronounced after a proper application of blush. Our eyes stand out with the right color eyeshadow.
Yet, most of us rarely take the time to consider what we are using to apply our make-up. Is it clean? Does it contain harmful bacteria? It's important to always apply your makeup with sanitary applicators. That means if you use your hands to apply your makeup then clean them well before using them. The same goes for cosmetic brushes and sponges. They, too, must be clean and as free from dirt, oils and bacteria as possible.
Here are some key points to remember when using cosmetics and the prevention of skin problems:
1. Never share your cosmetic brushes. If you must use a brush to apply cosmetics on someone then make sure their face is completly cleaned first and then you must clean your brushes before you use them on yourself. The same applies to sponges. TIP: try to use disposables if you can
2. Clean your applicators (brushes, sponges, etc.) at least every two weeks. More, if you use them on others.
3. If you can't find a brush cleaner then use a gentle yet effective shampoo or body wash. I suggest baby shampoo or baby wash. Of course the best brush cleaner are the cleaners specifically formulated for cosmetic brush cleaning. You can find them at Sally Beauty Supply and Target.
4. Apply your make-up with a gentle hand. Avoid pulling or stretching or picking at the skin.
Also, take note that the cosmetics should allow your skin to breathe. If your pores are clogged, sebum cannot secrete normally, and as a result, acne may occur. Preferably, your cosmetics should be hypoallergenic.
