How to Get Rid of Blackheads?
Tips for Removing Blackheads
& Clear Clogged/Plugged Pores
That May Lead to ACNE
Wondering how to get rid of blackheads? Such a pain, isn't it?
I dread it...BIG TIME. These things give me clogged, or plugged, pores, and enlarge the pores, especially on my nose! Do you have the same problem?
If left untreated, it can lead to lots of scars on your affected areas, and cause acne to breakout too.
![]() Your pores get clogged up and become very unsightly |
Otherwise known as open comedone, this is a type of acne vulgaris that occurs as a result of excessive oils, makeup or dirt accumulating in the duct of the sebaceous glands.
Some of the factors that makes matters worse are:
- Excessive dead skin cells blocking our pores
- Excessive secretion of facial oils
- Not removing these facial oils as a result of poor or non-existent cleansing regime
- Over-scrubbing the face, thereby agitating the oil glands
- Putting on facial products that may contain too much oil
With that in mind, I suggest we do what's necessary to keep our pores clean and un-plugged. I'm sure you'd want a clean and clear face too, don't you? ;)
These are some steps you can take to remove blackheads:
- Visit a dermatologist and have him/her extract it for you.
- Use an appropriate cleanser or exfoliant to cleanse the face of excess oils and dead skin cells.
For this, I'd recommend the Clearasil Daily Blackhead Control Scrub with Natural Sea Salt - Apply anti-acne products that contain benzoyl peroxide.
The best system I've used has got to be the 3-Step System from Proactiv® Solution. - Try phototherapy.
- You can also try adhesive facial strips or the Blackhead Remover and Pore Minimizer Gel.
- Use a comedo extractor (a blackhead remover tool). But unless you are trained to use this, I suggest you only let your dermatologist do it for you. Else, there's a risk you will damage the tissue around your pores.
For me, I find that the combination of a good cleansing regime with Proactiv® Solution together with the Blackheads Remover and Pore Minimizer Gel works best for me.
Occasionally, I'd visit the dermatologist to do some extraction and overall maintenance too.
So find the best solution that works for you, and stick to it. If you follow your skin care regime, you'll do fine.
